The 4 weeks Spring course is suitable for any drumming beginner or serious enthusiast. Led by professional percussionist Orlando Cotto (re)learn the basics of drumming, develop your internal timing, and Learn common folk rhythms from Cuba, Puerto Rico and West Africa. This course focus on techniques, gaining experience in applying knowledge accumulated in aural traditions and rhythm skills, interpreting the music appropriately, and improvising using the most popular rhythms while developing sounds.
You’re encouraged to bring your own drums, though Congas drums can be rented from the instructor for a one-time fee of $60 for the 4 weeks.
