Recording my first album Caribeños was my way of paying tribute to my background whereas A little Prayer was the culmination after years of studying. Since the marimba is a relatively new instrument, I play music that would capture the hearts of the audience. I want them to remember the instrument and the music even when the concert has ended.

Notes from the composer:
A collection of eight short pieces that Orlando Cotto recorded and then transcribed for publication. This music was inspired during my wife’s pregnancy with our son Luis Matthew, who has become a source of inspiration and strength. I composed the music with the intention to expose my son to the amazing sound of the marimba and the dynamic range of the instrument. As much as the music is very pleasant and easy to listened to, each piece is like a moving landscape, the understanding and the appreciation of the music changes with each listening. In the end, all of the compositions are meant to put the listener in a relaxing and meditative state. Please, notice that the CD Marimba For an Angel is download only. Thank you for your support.
